Colorful Paper Sculptures Artist, Jen Starks, makes these beautiful sculptures out of colored paper. While growing up in Miami, she was exposed to mandy different cultures and their colorful energy and this had a great impact on her. Also, there were many beautiful plants all year long in Miami. She became interested in nature and this sparked her interest in layers and miscorscopic patterns. She wanted to express her love for color in her art. 
Giant Ancient Insect Brought Back From Extinction Off the coast of Australia there is an extremely remote island called "Bali's Pyramid." There is nothing on this rock, nobody lives here, and very few people visit. A few years ago, two climbers made an unbelievable discovery. About 225 feet up the rock, they discovered a prehistoric stick bug called Dryococelus australis. They discovered living insects that were thought to be extinct. The first attempt to remove a male and female from the island resulted in failure. The second attempt, spearheaded by zookeeper Rohan Cleave, was a success. These bugs have now successfully bred, and there are now a few more in existence. This video shows the birth of a giant stick bug. Read more here. 
Ancient Artifact Found Inside A Baby Shark In a village near the famous beach called Klebang in Malacca, Malaysia a woman was preparing lunch for her family. She was busy slicing up a baby shark, when she discovered something lodged inside the small creature. What she discovered turned out to be an ancient medallion worn by Portuguese solders during the 16th century. The small medal artifact is 7.4 cm long and 6 cm wide. How crazy is this discovery? Check out more here.      The Svalbard Global Seed Vault Receives 25,000 New Seeds The Svalbard Global Seed Vault was designed to withstand global warming, earthquakes, and nuclear strikes. This is the doomsday vault. It was built to protect the world's food supply in case there is a massive disaster of any kind. The vault is located on an arctic island in Norway called Spitsbergen. The building is anchored into the cold mountain to provide natural protection for the seeds if electricity is lost. The seed vault has recently received a fresh shipment of over 25,000 new seeds. When it's doors first opened in 2008, the vault received 100 million seeds from more than 100 different nations. Experts expect the seed bank to become the biggest and most diverse collection of seeds anywhere on the planet. (I really hope humanity doesn't ever have to depend on this bank for survival.) Hiding An Aircraft During WWII When a country is at war, it is important that they are able to keep some secrets from the enemy. America went through great lengths to conceal a Lockhheed Burbank aircraft during WWII. Camouflaging this aircraft was important not only to protect the plane from a Japanese air attack, but also to keep the element of surprise about the equipment we had at our disposal. The Army Corps of Engineers covered the plane with a giant net. From the sky, the entire area looked like the typical landscape. Kind of makes you wonder what else we might hiding under giant nets.
