The Hanger Hammock

British artist Joshua Notley created this super cool hammock using previously used materials.
I'm not sure how comfortable it is to take a nap in but add a cushion and this is one of the best projects I've ever seen using old hangers.
What could you design using used materials found around your house?

Watch what you feed those cows

Did you know that cows' burps can be harmful to our environment? Believe it or not, it is true. A cow releases about 75 gallons of methane gas every day, mostly through brups. The combination of methane gas, carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide may contribute to the greenhouse effect, which causes the earth to warm up. I knew pollution from our cars and factories can damage the earth, but burps??

Art made with Liquids

This sure is a different type of art.
Charlie bucket puts colored liquids through plastic tubes. How cool!
What a unique form of art.

How Many Pounds of Meat Can You Eat in an Hour?

Wow! I've NEVER been to a restaurant like this!
Mel's Country Cafe is known for its insane food challenge called, "The Mega Mel."

In the challenge, you need to eat
this burger made out of:
1.5 pounds of fresh ground
1 pound of bacon
1/4 pound of American cheese
And lots and lots of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, & pickles

Here are the official rules to the competition:

1. If you leave anything on your plate, you will be disqualified.

2. If anyone takes anything off your plate, you will be disqualified.

3. You must be able to walk and talk after eating the Mega Mel Burger.

4. If you get sick at any time, you will be disqualified.

5. You have two hours to eat the Mega Mega Mel Burger.

6. We will stop you from eating if at anytime we feel you are going to get sick.

7. The most important thing is to remember that the Mega Mel Burger is a fun event at Mel's Country Cafe, so please have fun with it.

Would you even dare to try?

Are we getting too lazy?
At one time or another, everyone of us has tried shooting a basket in a can with a piece of trash. Some of us have better aim than others.
Minoru Kurata has created a special garbage can that moves when it senses a piece of trash near by.
He is currently working on getting a patent for this trash can. Don't be surprised if you see it in stores soon.

Hard to believe
Did you know that back in the 1800's, many farmers could not afford to have their trash picked up? They got THEIR pigs to eat up the trash. In 1895, Colonel george E. Waring Jr. became the commissioner of street cleaning. He set up the first trash-recycling system. Three years later, new York City was the cleanest city in the world.

Dumping Paint onto the City Streets

Dutch artist Iepe Rubingh created this spectacular video called "painting reality" quite some time ago.
Iepe and his crew of helpers loaded up bicycles with over 500 liters of environmentally-friendly, water-based paint and transformed a major intersection in Berlin.
I love this video but it turns out a lot of people have gotten upset about this project claiming that it was irresponsible and could have been potentially hazardous to bikers and drivers.
What do you think?

Turn anything into art
Although this idea seems quite simple, it is pretty brilliant. The artist just drew faces on chickpeas. I love this!

Turn your drawings into 3d objects
Wow, check out this cool pen. There is no need to draw pictures in 3d when you can actually just make the image yourself. It is a like a 3d printer. You can make your own toys or jewelry.
I want one of these!
