A Surprise Aboard

What would you do if you were on a plane and a snake started to slither around? This is what happened aboard an Egyptian flight from Cairo to Kuwait. This is something that you would see in a movie. The snake actually bit the Jordanian who smuggled it on board.

The pilot had to make an emergency landing in the town of Al Ghardaqa on the Red Sea.
The Jordanian owns a reptile shop in Kuwait and snuck the Cobra on board in his carry-on bag. How did the security not realize this was going on?
The man insisted that he was fine, but was required to be observed for 24 hours by medical officials.

The 1960's Are Making A Comeback!

I just learned of a cool little community called "Velatropa El Aldea" filled with modern day hippies!
Right in the middle of Buenos Aires lies this little town that focuses on sustainable living.

The people eat off the land (and from dumpster diving if needed) and they even have beds that hang in the trees.
This small community was started by a group of students from the urban design faculty at the University of Buenos Aires. They wanted to test out sustainable living.

Now, there are anywhere from 20 to 40 people living there. The people spend their days recycling, growing food and meditating. The most important thing for them is to be with nature.

CELEBRATING OUR VETERANS
Today we honor the men and women who have served in the Untied States Service.
Veterans Day was originally a day to honor Armistice Day, the end of World War I which took place on November 11, 1918.
After WWII, they decided to change this day to honor all people that served in war.
In 1954, President Eisenhower signed a bill that made November 11th Veterans Day.
Take time to thank those around you that HAVE SERVED IN THE MILITARY!

Driverless Cars Will Enable the Blind to Drive

Three states have already legalized the use of driverless cars, Nevada, Florida and California.
Here in the District of Columbia, legalization is currently in the works.
This technology is relatively new, but the benefits are huge for people with disabilities.
Imagine going through life having to be dependent on others to drive you around?
Driverless cars are a huge step towards giving these individuals the freedom of their own transportation.
I can't wait to see them here in DC!

Teenage Girls From Africa Solve The World's Energy Problem

Four teenage girls, Duro-Aina Adebola (14 years old), Akindele Abiola (14 years old), Faleke Oluwatoyin (14 years old), and Bello Eniola (15 years old), have created a device that turns your pee into electricity.
They presented their "Urine Powered Generator" at the Maker Faire Africa in Lagos this year.
Their machine can transform 1 liter of human urine into 6 hours of electricity.

How amazing are these young intelligent women??
