The daredevil does it again
WE have seen Nik wallenda cross niagra falls, but this time he crosses a cable 180 ft. above highway 41 in sarasota, florida.
Even though the winds were stronger than expected, he successfully completed this task while thousands of spectators watched.
This 34-year-old comes from a family of daredevils.
What will we see next?

"Real Cowboys Ride Motorbikes"

I'm loving this photo of a Mongolian horse herder using a moped to round up and move the horses.
It's cool to see just a touch of the modern world in a place where so much is done the old fashion way.
Great photo!

Looking For a New Way to Decorate

For those children that love dinosaurs, this may be the tree for you. I personally like the traditional tree, but everyone is different. Nadia Hassan's dinosaur tree could be put in a child's bedroom.
What do you think about the non-traditional Christmas tree?

A Way of Life

If you have ever traveled to other countries around the world, you may have seen women carrying all sorts of things on THEIR heads. this is quite common in countries in South America and Africa. I even saw a man carrying a table on his head that could fit ten people around it when I was in Haiti. Most young girls learn this technique from THEIR mothers. When they are small children they practice balancing small objects on their heads. By the time they are young women, they can usually carry up to 25 percent of their body weight without using any energy at all. This is possible because of THEIR posture control. They form a line between THEIR vertebrae and pelvis. They USUALLY do not move THEIR head and shoulders around. These women can carry more weight (relative to body size) than pack mules.
We Americans have all sorts of back problems because of the WEIGHT we carry on our backs. WE should really learn from them.

A Giant Bird on the Move

The American White Pelican is a migratory creature that can be spotted at various times of the year all over our country.
During the winter, these guys fly south, sometimes as far south as Central America.
Once Spring hits, the pelicans gather together in large groups and head north, all the way up to Montana and Southern Canada.
That means people have an opportunity to spot a pelican in every state in between.
Often, people are shocked to see these birds. The pelicans have wingspans up 9 feet wide!
The American White Pelican is a sight to see, especially in the middle of Oklahoma!

Teenage Girls From Africa Solve The World's Energy Problem

Four teenage girls, Duro-Aina Adebola (14 years old), Akindele Abiola (14 years old), Faleke Oluwatoyin (14 years old), and Bello Eniola (15 years old), have created a device that turns your pee into electricity.
They presented their "Urine Powered Generator" at the Maker Faire Africa in Lagos this year.
Their machine can transform 1 liter of human urine into 6 hours of electricity.

How amazing are these young intelligent women??

Statue of Liberty Imitations

I absolutely love the Statue of Liberty...apparently I'm not the only one.
There are literally thousands of Lady Liberty statues all over the globe!

Here are a few of my favorites...

Will Anyone Run Against George Washington?

The very first presidential election was not quite as sophisticated or
complicated as our elections are today.
There were no billion dollar campaigns or generator operated
electronic voting booths; in fact, there weren't even two people running for President!
The year was 1788 and everyone sort of just assumed that
George Washington should be the first president.
The only thing that was really decided by the 69 electors was who the Vice President would be.
Each elector got two votes and everybody voted for Washington, so he became the President. John Adams received the second most votes, a total of 34, so he became Vice President.
Imagine that, the person with the most votes became president and the person who came in second place became Vice President. Interesting.
Elections continued like this until the passing of the Twelfth Amendment in 1804.
