William Wants A Doll
Check out this short cartoon from the Marlo Thomas project, "Free to Be, You and Me."
This segment is titled, "William Wants a Doll" and is about a little boy who wants a doll instead of another more masculine toy for his birthday.
The idea came from a children's picture book called William's Doll by Charlotte Zolotow.
Both the book and the song were released in 1972.
This is truly a retro video.
A lot of great cartoons came out in the 1970's.
