This Is NOT Your Typical House Of Worship
This unconventional Buddhist temple looks like a place you could only read about in a storybook.
The Temple is called Wat Rong Khun and it is located in Chiang Rai, Thailand.
Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, started his career painting billboards and murals.
Chalermchai gained a lot of fame and attention for his work, he even sold a piece of his art for $17,500.
After achieving some success as an artist, he returned to his hometown and began planning for the next big project...the temple.
He began working on Wat Rong Khun in 1998 and work continues to this very day.
"Only death can stop my dream, but cannot stop my project," said Chalermchai.
When the project is finally completed, there will be 9 buildings, each one filled with symbolism and ornate details.
