Make a Silhouette of Yourself!
In the 18th and 19th century, silhouettes were very popular. When I visited Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's home, there were a ton of framed silhouettes around the house.
It would be fun to make silhouettes of all your family members and put them in old looking oval frames.
Here are the steps to make your own silhouette!
1. Take an close-up profile picture.
2. Print out the image and color it in with a dark marker.
(Make sure you use a thin marker around the edges to get the detail.)
3. Cut the shaded area out and photocopy it on a white piece of paper.
4.Cut it to the size and shape of your frame.
It is really fun having people guess who is who based on their silhouette.
