The Oldest General Store in the USA Closes Down
This is Grays General Store in Little Compton, Rhode Island and it has been doing business for 224 years.
The store was opened way back in 1788 and was family owned and operated.
Now, Jonah Waite has been forced to close the doors forever after the loss of his father last month.
Jonah says that the shop just doesn't make any money and most people go to the supermarket down the street.
I long for the days when small family owned business are easier to find than giant corporations in our communities.
Don't forget to always try to support the little guy.
