The Awaiji Island Monkey Center
At the southern end of Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, there is a steep forested hillside that is set aside as the Awaiji Island Monkey Center.
There are approximately 220 Jampanese Macaques that call this piece of land home.
The center was established in 1967 by Mr. Minoru Nakahashi with about 50 monkeys.
