The Golden Age of Snake Charming
Ancient Egypt was one of the first places on the planet that we know of for sure to have snake charmers.
However, the snake handling method that we see today most likely spread from India.
Snake charming has been around for centuries, but during the early 20th century, many governments began to promote this practice to tourists as cool attractions.
As a result, there were a great many people playing instruments to hypnotize snakes in Egypt and other parts of North Africa.
