The "Gentle Giants" of the Cat World

The Maine Coon Cat, also known as the American Longhair, is a the official state cat of Maine.
This incredible breed of cat is known for its large size, rectangular body shape, and above average intelligence. 
These cats can grow to weigh up to 25 pounds!
Maine Coon Cats have a long and extra bushy "raccoon-like" tail that is designed to help them survive blistering winds and a snowy climate by acting as a blanket during extremely cold temperatures.
These cats tend to have a laid back personality and are usually extremely friendly to people, kids, and other animals.
