Just a Few Interesting Things I Learned About Meerkat Pups

Meerkats, like cats and dogs, give birth in litters.
A typical meerkat litter consists of three pups, but they can have as many as five.
The pups live in an underground burrow until they are at least 21 days old, by that time, their ears and eyes have opened.
They are weaned from their moms around 49-63 days old, then they join the other meerkats on the never-ending search for food.
When the meerkats turn about one year old, it is time for them to become parents.

Whoa...that was quick.
