Video Games and Creativity
New research out of Michigan State University shows that children who play video games tended to be more creative.
The study included 491 12 year old kids.
Each child had to take a test called The Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking.
It sound like a fun test, the kids were asked to perform various tasks that included drawing, naming, and writing stories.
The results seemed to conclude that the more they play video games, the more creative they are.
Head researcher and psychology professor Linda Jackson says, "Video games can be designed to optimize the development of creativity while retaining their entertainment values such that a new generation of video games will blur the distinction between education and entertainment."
I'm sure this is the first of many studies on the subject.
Just make sure you still do your homework and go outside....those things are really important too.
