Think Before You Act IN 1886, A BOTTLE OF COca-cola, also known as coke, COST JUST FIVE CENTS. 7O YEARS LATER ,IT WAS STILL ONLY FIVE CENTS. WHAT HAPPENED TO INFLATION? IN 1899, THE PRESIDENT OF COCA-COLA WAS APPROACHED BY two LAWYERS who were interested in buying the bottle rights for coca-cola. The president sold them the syrup so they could do it on their own. He did not want to be bothered by them so he quickly made this decision.
Bottle drinks became very popular and coca-cola was upset because if they decided to raise the price for the bottle, the coca-cola company would not get any of the profit.
the cola company highly advertised the drinks selling at "five cents" so it would be really difficult for anyone to raise the price. Even though they didn't really have control on the price. It was a way of brainwashing the public to not accept anything higher.
