Over thousands of years, water escapes from glaciers due to the pressure.
The caves are formed by water breaking through a moulin, which is a natural hole that melts its way from the top of the glacier to the bottom.
As the water leaks out the bottom of the cave, it expands.
One popular place to see these caves is in Skaftafell National Park in Iceland.
