Bikes without brakes!
Thanks to researchers at Saaland University in Germany, our bikes will no longer need brakes.
Soon, the brake cable and lever will be replaced with wireless sensors that will automatically tell the brake to activate when the biker squeezes the right handle.
Then, it sends signals to stop the bike.
Holger Hermanns, one of the researchers, says that this system is extremely reliable, but not 100% perfect. Out of a trillion braking attempts, Holger believes it may disfunction just three times.
It is not on the market yet; however, if everything goes as planned, in the future we may use this in cars, planes, and trains.
