In August, people from the city of Riederalp, gather to celebrate the Cowpat Festival, a celebration that puts people to work fertilizing the high pastures.
People bring walking boots, golf clubs and garden tools to mix up manure into the soil.
This doesn't sound like a festival that I would want to go to, until I saw how much fun everybody is having.
March through October, there are even more festivals where farmers gather to watch cow wrestling.
Surprisingly, they take this competion quite seriously.
They also compete in yodeling contests.
Just when you think the fun is over, winter sets in and locals come together to determine The World's Best Santa at ClauWau.
There are also competitions to determine the best chimney climber, snowball thrower, gingerbread deocator and who can deliver the quickest presents, acting like a donkey!
This is hysterical.
I wonder if any of the winners put this on their resume.
And finally, to celebrate a new year, they watch pig races to determine the town's mascot for the year.
