The First Artist To Tweak The Mona Lisa?
Photographer Arthur Fellig, often called Weegee, started his career as a crime scene photographer in NYC during the 30's and 40's.
In 1947, Weegee moved to Los Angeles California and started to experiment with other types of photography.
He became a master of distorting an image.
This is way before photoshop, mind you, so all distortions had to occur in the dark room.
He became famous for his alterations to Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa.
Many, many artists have since toyed with this classic image.
