Flowers Used To Say Goodbye To A Special Building
Back in 2003, the Massachusetts Mental Health Center was scheduled to shut down after 90 years of operation.
This was a building where people went to find healing and hope, and the community wanted to have some kind of event to celebrate this place.
Artist Anna Schuleit was chosen to create a memorial, so people could say goodbye to the building before it was demolished.
She came up with Bloom, a flower installation that used 28,000 potted flowers spread thoughtfully throughout the building.
