Friggatriskaidekaphobia is what they call the "Fear of Friday the 13th.
What is the history behind this?
How did Friday the 13th get such a bad reputation?
It is after all....just another day...or is it?
As far as historians can tell, this hysteria all began with the English author Henry Sutherland Edwards.
In 1869, Edward wrote a biography in which he mentioned the unlucky Friday the 13th.
It was the first time in written history that this was written.
However, prior to this written statement, two superstitions can be traced back much farther.
#1--13 is an unlucky number
People used to believe that if 13 people eat together at the same table then one person will die.
#2--Friday is an unlucky day.
People used to believe that you should NEVER start a new journey or project on a Friday.
Well....it is what it is I suppose.
Happy Friday the 13th to all the Cool Like Piesters out there!
Enjoy the day, and watch your step.
