China and India join up to create the world's biggest telescope.
China and India started planning the steps needed to build this telescope, known as the TMT.
They are hoping to start the building later this decade.
China and India will pay a part of the construction cost, which will be about a $1 billion.
This telescope will be located at the summit of Mauna Kea volcano in Hawaii.
They plan to make it 100 feet long which will allow it to give it nine times the light-collecting area of the largest optical telescopes in use today.
And, its images will also be three times sharper.
With this telescope, astronomers will be able to observe planets that orbit stars other than the sun and watch new planets and stars being formed.
It should also help scientists see 13 billion light years away for a glimpse into the early years of the universe.
