The Svalbard Global Seed Vault was designed to withstand global warming, earthquakes, and nuclear strikes.
This is the doomsday vault.
It was built to protect the world's food supply in case there is a massive disaster of any kind.
The vault is located on an arctic island in Norway called Spitsbergen.
The building is anchored into the cold mountain to provide natural protection for the seeds if electricity is lost.
The seed vault has recently received a fresh shipment of over 25,000 new seeds.
When it's doors first opened in 2008, the vault received 100 million seeds from more than 100 different nations.
Experts expect the seed bank to become the biggest and most diverse collection of seeds anywhere on the planet.
(I really hope humanity doesn't ever have to depend on this bank for survival.)
