Nancy Rogers was in a small cabin at The White Point Resort near Liverpool, N.S.
(That's up in Canada)
She was putting on her wedding dress and in final prep mode for her wedding.
It was then, in those final moments as a single woman, that she learned of the fire.
There was a giant fire racing through the main building where the reception to the wedding was being held.
Nancy and her family were quickly taken out of the facility.
At least 60 firefighters rushed into the building to try to save as much of the building as possible.
Her fiancé, the groom, Michael, was just getting the news from his aunt.He said, "One of my aunts came into my parents' cottage to say, 'Have you heard? The place is on fire'."The building was old and mostly-wooden.Firefighters fought that fire for over 6 long exhausting fire.In the end, the 83 year old building was destroyed.Nancy and Michael decided to go on with the wedding, despite the fire."We still wanted to get married. If we had to get married on the side of the road, we were getting married on the side of the road. We were getting married. That was all there was to it." Said Nancy.Well, they tied the knot.Congratulations Nancy and Michael!
