Snow in the desert!
Most people think of hot weather when they think of a desert.
Actually, a desert can be very cold. In order for it to be a desert, there needs to be less than sixteen inches of precipitaion a year.
This is not enough precipitation for most plants to grow.

Even though it is covered in ice, it gets less than 16 of inches of precipitation a year.
