A University Students Invents A Whole New Water Sport
Simon Sivertsen spent the last summer sailing around the Mediterranean sea on his family's sailboat.
Inspired by a piece of driftwood he had scooped out of the water, Simon began to play around with an idea.
What if he attached a rope to wood and let the boat drag him through the water?
He continued to tweak his new invention all summer.
Simon tried all types of wood, searching for the perfect shape.
He even tried to use two wooden cutting boards attached by a garden hose that he purchased at a quick stop in Italy.
Simon was so passionate about crating the Subwing, that he took the next year off from college to develop the design with a team of experts.
He spent that year testing and re-testing his new product in the icy winter waters until it was perfect.
Now Simon is ready to share his invention with the world.
