The Tulip Farms Of Holland
Now is the time to put the bulbs in the ground if you want tulips in the spring.
Farmers in Holland are busy planting over 3 billion tulip bulbs that will produce amazing tulips in May.
The northern Netherlands (Holland) is especially beautiful in the middle of tulip season.
It is one of the most glorious sites in the world and many tourist travel there to visit the tulip farms.
Many visitors compare the scene to an artist's sketchbook or a technicolor patchwork.
The Dutch (people who live in The Netherland/Holland) are famous throughout the world for their beautiful tulips.
Apparently back in the 17th century "Tulip Mania" swept the globe.
"Tulip Mania" caused the price of tulips to skyrocket and therefore, the tulip became a very prized flower.
Most of the tulips grown in Holland will be shipped off to the United States and Germany.
When the flowers are all gone in mid spring, the land will be plowed and then used to grow crops of vegetables for the summer.
I really hope to see this at some point in my life.
