Polo is traditionally played with horses down in Wellington, Florida.
Back in 1912, on Coney Island there was one season that changed everything and they called it "Auto Polo."
The basic rules were the same, but there were no horses.
Instead each team had 4 cars, 2 men per car.
A 1912 article found in the New York Times stated, “It would be hard to devise a game in which the players took bigger chances of mishap."
Scary....no wonder it didn't last!
