Artist Jack Hall (1906-1993) spent his life mastering the art of building with matchsticks.
He was on a mission to prove that an instrument didn't need to be made from the finest material in order to sound good.
Jack made all types of stringed instruments from matchsticks.
This ukulele was created in 1984.
Jack used 10,000 matchsticks and 2 lbs of hide glue to hold it together.
It took Jack 400 hours to complete this ukulele.
He worked 5 hours per day.
