Art Hidden In The Australian Rainforest
Australian potter and sculptor William Ricketts spent his life creating sculptures celebrating Aboriginal culture.
From 1934 until his death in 1993, he worked endlessly creating the sculpture park now called William Ricketts Sanctuary.
The sanctuary is located in the midst of the Australian rainforest.
His sculptures were designed to blend with the surrounding environment.
The sculptures are a monument to the relationship that the Aboriginals had with nature.
He made frequent trips to Central Australia to live with the Aboriginal people and learn more about their culture.
